How to play Maze Adventure

Choose a round of Maze Adventure and settle into its rules. Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. Look at what changes after your first action. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move.

Focus on one rule

Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your goal

Move into the exit at the bottom right. The game counts the steps you take. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Step by step

  1. Start from the upper-left cell.
  2. Move through openings using arrow keys or direction buttons.
  3. You may also tap a neighbouring cell connected by an open passage.
  4. Reach the gold exit or generate a new maze.

Controls

Arrow keys, on-screen direction buttons, or a click/tap on an adjacent reachable cell. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

If a wall blocks the cell to your right, try another opening; the token cannot move through walls. Use the example as a guide rather than a substitute for reading your board. Notice the change in the playing area.

Watch out for this

Only immediately adjacent cells can be reached in one move. Read the feedback to see why an action did not have the expected result. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
